For many performers, after a long 8-show week, their one day off is time to rest and recharge. This week, we caught up with Paige Gilbert from The Skin of Our Teeth to spend an afternoon with her. Get to know a bit more about Paige in her #DayOffDiary:

Hometown? Detroit, MI.

Where might we find you on your day off? In the park. In the bed. At a museum.

If you weren’t a performer, what would you be doing? Teaching, record company A&R, therapist.

If you could describe your experience with The Skin of our Teeth in just one word, what would it be? A DREAM.

Who are you jamming to on Spotify right now? Toro Y Moi, Summer Walker, Gunna Rob49, Babyface Ray.

What are you binging on TV right now? The ending of Ozark.

Read any good books lately? Do Plays count? The Skin of our Teeth by Thornton Wilder is pretty wild.

One Instagram account (besides your own, duh), that we need to be following? Siri Rishi.

Favorite coffee joint in Midtown? What’s your order? I don’t drink coffee but the turmeric latte with oat milk and vanilla from Le Pain Quotidien.

Pickles on your burgers? Depends on burger and pickle.

Pineapple on your pizza? Not by choice.

What flavor of cream cheese on your bagel? Caper & red onion.

What is one show you are dying to see on Broadway right now? MJ.

What is your favorite memory working on The Skin of Our Teeth? We had 15 minutes to come up with a dance for the second act and 28 people went into a room and worked together perfectly. I’d never experienced that in my life.

You can catch Paige in The Skin of Our Teeth, which is now playing at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on Broadway. For tickets and more information, click here. For more photos, visit Theatrely on Instagram. All photos by Rebecca J Michelson/Theatrely.
