You know what’s Grool? Mean Girls is finally headed to London next summer after many years of speculation on its trans-atlantic journey. The smash hit musical will make its West End debut at the Savoy Theatre beginning in June of 2024.

Based on the 2004 Paramount Pictures film of the same name, Mean Girls has an all-star creative team including a book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Nell Benjamin, and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw.

The musical had its world premiere at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. in 2017 before premiere at the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway in April of 2018. It can currently be seen touring the US on its second national tour and the upcoming musical film adaptation will be released in January.

“Mean Girls is a timeless comedy that for decades has connected with generations of audiences across the globe. Having worked together for several years on this production, we are immensely proud and excited to be bringing this stage musical, led by this incredible writing and creative team, to London’s Savoy Theatre,” said producers  Lorne Michaels and Sonia Freidman.

Further dates and casting will be announced at a later time.
